Beware of Impersonation Texts and Voicemails

Scammers are calling and texting customers pretending to be State Bank of Southern Utah (SBSU).

Legitimate bank employees will NEVER ask for the following:

  • Codes that SBSU sends to you. If the messages says “Do not reveal the code”, do not reveal it.
  • Your 16-digit debit or credit card number, Expiration Date or CVV code.
  • Your Online Banking login credentials (user name, password).

For additional protection against possible fraud:

  • Download the SBSU Card Suite app from the iOS or Android stores.
  • Register your SBSU debit and credit cards.
  • Get real-time alerts on your phone when your card is used.
  • Turn your cards on or off from your smartphone.

If you receive a suspicious message or call, hang up and contact SBSU right away. Visit your nearest branch or call us at (435) 865-2300 (Mon-Sat, 8 AM – 8 PM)

Text Impersonations

Scammers are calling and texting customers pretending to be State Bank of Southern Utah (SBSU), through text messages or voicemails that ask you to take action or respond. Please remember: SBSU will never pressure you to respond to a text message. We will never ask...

State Bank Will Never

Scammers impersonate State Bank of Southern Utah (SBSU) by spoofing our phone number to call and text people in Southern Utah. While they appear helpful, State Bank employees will never ask for:

  • Your ATM PIN, full social security, or credit card numbers.
  • Your card expiration dates or CVV codes.
  • Your Online Banking credentials (username, password, codes, or challenge answers).
  • Zelle codes (to send money with Zelle, a phone number or email address is all that you need. The one-time Zelle code sent to you at registration is used to associate your bank account. Never give it to anyone).
